The Development of a Video-based Nutrition Education Curriculum for Patients Undergoing Radical Cystectomy

BACKGROUND: The treatment for patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer includes neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by radical cystectomy. American Urological Association guidelines stress the optimization of patient performance status in perioperative setting. Therefore, implementation nutrition education is critical multi-disciplinary care this vulnerable population and wide distribution information critical. OBJECTIVE: goal our study was to create a nutrition-based video series undergoing cystectomy cancer. METHODS: Scripts videos were developed through an iterative process experts nutrition, urology, communication. Providers advocates recruited perform semi-structured interviews surveys additional feedback. Performer facial emotion recognition (Noldus™) used assess displayed presenters.
